Located near the Sultan Bolkiah Mausoleum, the Sultan Sharif Ali Mausoleum commemorates the life of Brunei’s third Sultan, famously known as “Sultan Berkat” or “Blessed Sultan.” His rule, which began in 1425, was marked by dedication to Islamic values, from building Brunei’s first mosque to establishing governance rooted in Islamic law. His legacy endures in Brunei’s name—he added “Darussalam,” meaning “Abode of Peace,” as a symbol of the nation’s faith-driven ideals. This beautifully landscaped mausoleum, situated near the ancient capital, serves as a quiet place of reflection and an enduring tribute to his profound influence on Brunei’s history and religious identity​.
