Hungry in the middle of the night? No problem! With not much to do in the country most, if not all, late nights, a Bruneian favourite past time is hanging out at late night restaurants with good food and good company. To help you avoid the hapless plod around town looking for places to curb your late night hunger, here’s our guide to Brunei’s late night restaurants and cafes. Live like a local and hit up these restaurants and cafés that stay open way past midnight!

With four outlets around the country, Semporna Enak has a wide variety of local street-style fare to choose from. Famed for its affordable menu and late closing hours, a trip to Semporna Enak will be sure to curb your hunger pangs! Have a go at their popular asam curry fish or the fried kuey teow (flat rice noodles) to satisfy your curiosity for local street food.

You can find Semporna Enak at Gadong, Rimba, the Waterfront in Bandar Seri Begawan or Mentiri. They operate daily from 7am to 4am.

One of Brunei’s notable hangout spots – TK Tea House is a favourite for many, known for their alfresco dining and huge projector screens showing movies or football games. Popular for their affordable seafood dishes and Asian dishes, one can never go hungry or bored at any of their outlets! Some branches even offer freshly grilled skewered meats called “satay” – a great snack to share with friends!

TK Tea House has 5 branches – Menglait, Gadong 1, Gadong 2, Kiarong and Sg Hanching; and operates daily from 7am until 4am.

Go where the locals go! Famed for their Nasi Lemak (rice cooked in coconut milk and served with a variety of side dishes), Keboys is one of the few local small businesses operating out of home that is flocked by many. Their affordable range of dishes, including their famous Cucur Pisang (banana fritters) is not to be missed!

Keboys is located at Jalan Bunut, and operates daily from 5.30pm to 3am.

One of Brunei’s oldest open air food courts located in the heart of the capital – Tamu Selera has a huge variety of food stalls offering local and regional delights. From Indonesian and Thai cuisine to seafood dishes, Tamu Selera can cater to all your midnight cravings. Try out the famed Black Pepper Crab or Nasi Ayam Penyet while you’re there!

Tamu Selera is located next to the St. Andrew’s Church and opens daily from 5pm until 2am with some stalls closing as late as 4am.

Located not far from the capital, Bali Paradise – as its name suggests, serves a wide range of authentic Indonesian dishes. Their unique Balinese décor and outdoor seating are sure to make you feel like you are in Bali. Make sure to try out their Ayam Bakar Khas Bali (Signature Grilled Chicken) and freshly made Sate (grilled meat on skewers).

Bali Paradise is located in Kiulap, with its sister branch Wira in Rimba. They operate daily from 9am until 3am.
