Birdwatching at Wasan Paddy Field2021-08-31T16:43:14+08:00

Occupying 400 hectares of padi fields and a swampland, Wasan Paddy Field is as proud testament to the country’s resolute determination in achieving rice self-sufficiency. Migrant water birds such as Ducks, Warblers, Green and Wood Sandpipers and Marsh Harriers mostly frequent the area. Also sighted are fellow Bornean residents, Lesser Adjutants, Java Sparrows, Egrets, the Straw-headed Bulbul, the Blue-breasted Quail and the Scaly-breasted Munia. Here, some birds leave between November and April or May, while others stay to hatch their eggs.
